About the data
- Dump station locations, fees, water and hours come from OpenStreetMap (tag
amenity=sanitary_dump_station). Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). - Nearest town is worked out from the US Census Bureau gazetteer of places (public domain), as a straight-line distance.
- “At” a campground, rest area or fuel station means that place is mapped within a few hundred feet of the dump in OpenStreetMap.
OpenStreetMap is built by volunteers, so coverage is uneven: some areas are well mapped, others are missing stations. If you know a dump station that’s missing or closed, adding or fixing it on OpenStreetMap helps every app that uses the map – and it will show up here after the next update.
